In the midst of the New York Mets<\/a>\u2019 game against the Athletics<\/a> and the Cincinnati Reds<\/a>\u2019 matchup versus the Los Angeles Angels<\/a>, history was taking place on the West Coast.<\/p>\n

Artemis II successfully reached Earth, and baseball fans were able to see videos of the event<\/p>\n

Luckily for those in attendance at Citi Field and the Great American Ball Park, both home teams made sure that the crowds could get a look at Artemis II\u2019s historic splashdown<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When video showed the Orion spacecraft splash into the Pacific Ocean, fans at Citi Field filled the concourse with applause.<\/p>\n

Artemis II launched from NASA\u2019s\u00a0Kennedy Space Center on April 1<\/a>, and has successfully completed the first human lunar mission in 50 years<\/a>. And in this case, sports and culture gelled to produce something special.<\/p>\n
