Will the New York Giants<\/a> find LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane to be the best prospect available with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft?<\/p>\n

The Giants have been heavily linked to several top prospects in pre-draft projections, such as Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate and Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love. However, Delane\u2019s name has not been among them — at least not as frequently.<\/p>\n

In the latest mock draft from CBS Sports’ Jordan Dajani<\/a>, the Giants select Delane at No. 5 overall.<\/p>\n

Another surprise. I believe Mansoor Delane could be a top-five talent in this class. He allowed the lowest passer rating (24.1) in the SEC, didn’t allow a single touchdown in coverage and had zero penalties. I have questions about some of the biggest names in this class, but not Delane.<\/p>\n

Delane recorded two interceptions in 2025 at LSU. He also registered 11 passes defensed on his way to consensus first-team All-American honors that season.<\/p>\n

Delane\u2019s prowess in the secondary is enticing for teams in need of a cornerback. The Giants have just under two weeks left to prepare for this year\u2019s draft, with Delane expected to be a name on the board for the front office to consider when they select at No. 5 overall.<\/p>\n
