Every other team sits at .500 or worse through the first two weeks of the season, including a woeful start for the High-A Brooklyn Cyclones.<\/p>\n<p>The bats were quiet in a three-hit performance for the Triple-A Syracuse lineup, while the duo of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=ewing-000aj-&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=metsmerizedonline.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-11_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">A.J. Ewing<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=serran005eli&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=metsmerizedonline.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-04-11_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Eli Serrano<\/a> III continues to lead the Binghamton (Double-A) lineup that scores comfortably. He allowed seven base runners in less than four innings, allowing four of them to score. Austin Warren continues to impress in the minors and remains the likely candidate to be the first man up from Syracuse. Dan Hammer, whom the Mets signed to a two-year minor league contract, is off to a scoreless start for Syracuse.<\/p>\n<p>The Syracuse bats as a whole were brutal on Saturday, with just three recorded hits. Catcher Chris Suero is cementing himself as a legitimate prospect for the Mets, while also pushing himself closer to the national spotlight. Jacob Reimer, a top-100 prospect, has been off to a slow start for the Ponies but reached base three times on Saturday. Girton has now already walked 10 batters this year, 25% of his total from 2025, in roughly eight percent of the innings. He was bailed out by an incredible performance from Jefry Yan, recording all of his outs via the strikeout. Mitch Voit recorded three hits, one of which was the team\u2019s only extra-base hit, and was supported by a four-time on-base performance by Ronald Hernandez, while John Bay continued his hot start to the season. Command has continued to be an issue, with Hudepohl routinely missing his spots and leaving the ball over the plate. He was followed by a spotless outing from the Cyclones bullpen, totaling 5 2\/3 scoreless innings of work with 10 strikeouts. Jorge de Leon was the only effective Mets reliever, working a scoreless seventh inning with a strikeout and no runners reaching. He has not allowed a base runner in his first two outings this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Game 2 (F\/7): St. Lucie (4-4) 11, Dunedin (4-4) 4<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milb.com\/gameday\/blue-jays-vs-mets\/2026\/04\/11\/820367\/final\/box\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Box Score<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The second half of the doubleheader was a complete 180-degree turn for the Mets, with their bats breaking out in a major way while their pitching gave them a few extra chances. Pham reached twice, while AJ Salgado turned in a near-perfect performance at the plate. He and Sam Robinson are off to solid starts with the bat.
