\u00a0SINGLE GAME SET \u00a0<\/p>\n BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. \u2013 Returning from a three-game swing on the West Coast at Washington State, Gardner-Webb baseball prepares to host Queens University of Charlotte at John Henry Moss Stadium on Tuesday, April 14. \u00a0<\/p>\n Dawgs on the Diamond: After an impressive showing at Washington State, Kelvin Agosto<\/a> has improved his average to a team-leading .386 while leading the Dawgs with 51 total hits, including seven doubles and four RBIs. Agosto has also driven in a tie for team-best 32 runs. <\/p>\n Kennell continues to make strides down the stretch for Gardner-Webb, currently sitting second on the team with a .321 average. Starting in all 34 games, Kennell has amassed 43 hits to include eight doubles and a pair of homeruns. <\/p>\n Matt Ilgenfritz<\/a> has supplied the power for the Dawgs, blasting a team-leading nine homeruns to go along with a .310 average and 32 RBIs. Ilgenfritz sits in third on the club with 28 runs scored and first in doubles with 10. Merik Carter<\/a> raised his batting average to .281 following a 5-for-5 day at the plate one week ago against Elon. Carter also blasted his sixth and seventh homeruns of the year against the Phoenix and Washington State. <\/p>\n Oliver Ellison<\/a> leads the Runnin’ Bulldogs with four wins, throwing a team-high 55.0 innings while striking out 48 batters. Ellison tossed 8.0 innings of three-run baseball at Washington State over the weekend. Colby Putnam<\/a> leads the team with a 4.25 ERA out of the pen. The freshman has made 11 appearances while throwing 36.0 innings. He holds opposing batters to a .212 average.<\/p>\n Series with the Royals: Despite being separated by only 54 miles, Tuesday’s contest marks the first time the Runnin’ Bulldogs and Royals will square off on the diamond. <\/p>\n Scouting Queens: The Royals are 10-25 overall but recently took 2-of-3 from conference foe Stetson. Prior to that series, Queens had dropped three of its last four games.<\/p>\n Queens is led by Grayson Childers’ and Anibal Rivera’s .333 batting average, the only two Royals hitting over .300 on the year. Childers leads the club with 35 hits, including a team-leading six homeruns, while Thomas Mathay is second with 30 hits.
