Of course, one of the strongest advocates for the scarf trend is none other than Rihanna<\/a>, who has worn these foulards as tops<\/a>, skirts<\/a>, and everything in between<\/a>. And over the weekend, the trendsetting superstar embraced the silk scarf\u2019s sartorial cousin\u2014the bandana<\/a>\u2014to subtly transform her entire outfit.<\/p>\n

Arriving in New York City on Sunday, the \u201cDiamonds\u201d singer embraced many of her stylistic hallmarks\u2014statement outerwear<\/a>, oversize sunglasses<\/a>, an enviable handbag<\/a> (here, she carried one of her recent favorites, the Dracula book tote<\/a> from Dior by Jonathan Anderson). But it was the bandana that truly stole the show.<\/p>\n

Her look consisted of a slate-colored vest, paired with matching gray sweatpants and cloudy snakeskin sneakers. Over her gray separates, Rihanna wore a camel-colored coat with puffy gray fur trim, and in her hand, she carried her Dior tote with a Yankees baseball cap secured around one of the straps.<\/p>\n

However, even with all these winning pieces at play, it was her midnight-blue, paisley bandana that put the perfect finishing touch on the ensemble, adding a casual, \u201990s spin that could translate easily from the Big Apple streets to an Italian seaside.<\/p>\n
