YORK COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) – A convicted serial bank robber has been charged in another robbery that occurred earlier this month in Bradshaw.<\/p>\n

The York County Sheriff\u2019s Department said a multi-agency search warrant was executed in Grand Island on April 8, leading to the arrest of Jason McCain<\/a>, 46, of Grand Island.<\/p>\n

Authorities say McCain entered the Cornerstone Bank branch around 8 a.m. on April 1, approached employees and demanded an undisclosed amount of cash.<\/p>\n

During the robbery, officials say a bank employee suffered a non-life-threatening head injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

Court documents show McCain was charged with three felony counts and two misdemeanors, including third-degree assault, false imprisonment, robbery, theft by unlawful taking and unauthorized use of a propelled vehicle. <\/p>\n

His bond has been set at 10% of $1 million, and his first appearance is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m. <\/p>\n

The sheriff\u2019s office said investigators are still looking into a possible connection between the April 1 robbery and a burglary at the same bank branch in early February.<\/p>\n

Officials also said they have confirmed no personal or banking information was jeopardized during the incident.<\/p>\n

McCain has a lengthy history of bank robberies. Between 2007 and 2009, he robbed five financial institutions<\/a> in the Omaha metro area and was sentenced to federal prison. <\/p>\n

After his release, authorities say he robbed a Lincoln bank twice in 2017<\/a>, leading to another federal conviction and a seven-year prison sentence in 2018.<\/p>\n
