A longtime member of the top-producing Carrie Chiang Team is leaving Corcoran to join Brown Harris Stevens.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After eight years with Chiang\u2019s cohort, Andres Perea-Garzon is striking out on his own as an individual agent, the brokerage announced Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Perea-Garzon\u2019s move follows Compass\u2019 acquisition of Anywhere Real Estate<\/a>, Corcoran\u2019s parent company, which closed earlier this year. Perea-Garzon cited the rise of private listings \u2014 of which Compass and its CEO Robert Reffkin have championed \u2014 and BHS\u2019 stance on their place in the market<\/a> among the reasons for his exit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe align very, very well in terms of our values,\u201d Perea-Garzon said of BHS.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While at Corcoran, Perea-Garzon was a senior member of Chiang\u2019s team, which previously ranked among New York City\u2019s top brokers in The Real Deal\u2019s annual ranking. Though it wasn\u2019t in the latest edition\u2019s top 50, the team placed 26th<\/a> in 2025 with more than $70 million in listing-side trade volume.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last year, Perea-Garzon, along with Chiang and others on the team, represented the seller of a 30-room townhouse at 973 Fifth Avenue<\/a> in a $46 million deal, which closed in May. He and Chiang also represented the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the sale of a pair of townhouses<\/a> on East 82nd Street, which closed in November for $29 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Corcoran said the firm and its leaders \u201cwish [Perea-Garzon] success going forward.\u201d Perea-Garzon characterized his split from the brokerage as amicable and on \u201cvery good terms.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been together 7, 8 years, and I just wish him the best,\u201d Chiang said, describing their split as friendly. \u201cUnfortunately, I can\u2019t keep him because he wants more free time and to do his own business,\u201d she said, adding that her office was \u201cvery hectic\u201d and had \u201cvery strict working hours.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before joining Corcoran<\/a> in 2017, Perea-Garzon spent about a year at Compass, where he built a name for himself as the listing broker for several units at the Pierre. In 2014, he brokered a rental deal for a 39th-floor suite at the hotel for $500,000 a month, which broke the record for Manhattan\u2019s priciest lease.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Perea-Garzon\u2019s short stint at Compass followed four years at Town Residential, which shuttered two years after his departure.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Perea-Garzon is jumping to BHS on the heels of a few high-profile moves to the 150-year-old brokerage earlier this year and in late 2025, including Barbara Fox and the team behind Fox Residential Group. She and the 13 agents with the formerly independent firm joined in November<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Three months later, Raphael De Niro and eight agents on his top-producing team joined BHS<\/a> from Douglas Elliman, where De Niro had worked as an agent for 20 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n
