McLendon\u2019s community service is called Sparkle with Art, in which she is raising awareness on how art can make one\u2019s life sparkle along with collecting art supplies for children in the Troy community. McLendon has already visited a number of local schools and is working with art teachers and students. <\/p>\n
Knight is the founder of Pink On Purpose (POP), which is a community service initiative dedicated to raising Breast Cancer Awareness. Her goal is to raise awareness, inspire early detection and stand in support of those affected with breast cancer. She has constructed more than 100 \u201cbusy baskets,\u201d filled with crossword puzzles, mints, snacks, water, fuzzy socks, lotions, chapstick, toboggans, coloring books, colored pencils and more for patients to have while they receive cancer treatments to pass time. She has also held a juice drive after being made aware of a need for juice, collecting 35 cases of juice, to go to cancer patients. <\/p>\n
