AG James finds systemic failures in hospital psychiatric care<\/p>\n

The workers tasked with caring for some of New York’s most vulnerable patients \u2014 nurses, emergency department staff and psychiatric providers \u2014 were left without adequate policies, training or resources to safely manage mental health crises, an investigation by New York Attorney General Letitia James found.<\/p>\n
Her office’s investigation culminated in a settlement with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital announced this week that will require the hospital system to overhaul how it handles behavioral health emergencies.<\/p>\n
