BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) \u2014 A driver wanted for previously assaulting an NYPD officer was apprehended after a brief car chase in Brooklyn on Monday afternoon, according to police and law enforcement sources.<\/p>\n
The suspect was spotted in a red Kia with New Jersey license plates in the rear of 52 Ave. V near West 12th Street when cops tried to stop the car at around 2:15 p.m., sources and police said.<\/p>\n
More Local News <\/a><\/p>\n The suspect then allegedly rammed into an NYPD vehicle several times before driving off, according to police. After a brief pursuit, authorities said the driver and a passenger were taken into custody at Homecrest Avenue and Williams Court.<\/p>\n An officer was injured while arresting the suspect, police said. The cop was treated for minor injuries at the 60th Precinct.<\/p>\n The driver was wanted for allegedly assaulting an NYPD officer before Monday\u2019s incident, sources said.
