QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) \u2014 A popular NYC night market is gearing up for its 11th season, bringing back its signature mix of global food and weekend crowds, along with one major change for visitors.<\/p>\n
This year will be the final season featuring the market\u2019s long\u2011running $6 price cap on food.<\/a><\/p>\n More Local News <\/a><\/p>\n \u201cAmidst this K-shaped economy and with affordability at the top of everyone\u2019s mind, the $5\/$6 price cap seems more important than ever for New Yorkers. So, we\u2019re keeping it in place for one last year,\u201d Wang said.<\/p>\n Wang noted that keeping prices low relies on vendor participation.<\/p>\n \u201cKeeping the $6 price cap in place since 2017 hasn\u2019t been easy,\u201d founder John Wang said. \u201cIt\u2019s required the leanest of business models, passing every possible cost saving along to the vendors and ultimately to the customers.\u201d<\/p>\n Discover more stories shaping your neighborhood on our homepage <\/a><\/p>\n To help manage traffic and crowding, the market will open with ticketed entry for the first two Saturdays.<\/p>\n Sneak\u2011preview tickets cost $5 in advance, and children under 12 can enter for free.<\/p>\n Tickets for April 18 and April 25 can be purchased by clicking here.<\/a><\/p>\n Any remaining tickets will be available at the door for $8.<\/p>\n Organizers say at least 20% of net ticket proceeds will be donated to charity.<\/p>\n The Queens Night Market will return to its free, open\u2011to\u2011the\u2011public Saturday night schedule starting May 2.<\/p>\n Nicole Alarcon is an award-winning digital content producer.
