Acrimonious exes Lily Allen and David Harbour<\/a> have moved one step closer to severing their remaining ties after selling their marital townhouse in Brooklyn<\/a> for $7 million\u2014just under $1 million less than their original $7.99 million asking price. <\/p>\n

Allen, 40, and Harbour, 51<\/a>, originally listed the quirky Carroll Gardens<\/a> dwelling in October, just months after it was revealed their four-year marriage had come to an end. They then slashed their asking price by $700,000 in January, mere days before it was revealed that the property had come under offer. <\/p>\n

At the time, TMZ reported<\/a> that the former couple had accepted an offer of $7 million, news that has now been confirmed amid the property’s closing\u2014as first revealed by the New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Harbour and Allen have not yet finalized their divorce, and it is unclear how they will split the profits from the home, which they originally purchased for $3.35 million in 2021<\/a>. The property was listed with Carl Gambino of the Gambino Group at Compass. <\/p>\n

However, in the wake of their split, the British singer shared some insights into the uneven dynamic that was involved in the purchase of the property in her so-called “divorce album,” “West End Girl.” <\/p>\n

In the album, Allen leveled several shocking accusations about Harbour’s alleged infidelity, with the townhouse playing a central role in the record’s title track.<\/p>\n

According to the song, the decision to buy the home was largely Harbour’s, with Allen singing: \u201cNow I\u2019m looking at houses with four or five floors \/ And you\u2019ve found us a brownstone, said \u2018You want it? It\u2019s yours.'”<\/p>\n

She adds in the lyrics that she didn’t feel she could ever have afforded the property without the help of her spouse, admitting that the financial situation made her feel “a bit awkward,” particularly because she says Harbour was the one “pushing” to seal the deal.<\/p>\n

After buying the home, the couple carried out an extensive interior overhaul, working with designer\u00a0Billy Cotton\u2014who is also referenced in Allen’s song\u2014to turn the historic abode into a “weird” and whimsical wonderland.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we went ahead and we bought it \/ Found ourselves a good mortgage \/ Billy Cotton got sorted \/ All the furniture ordered \/ I could never afford this \/ You were pushing it forward \/ Made me feel a bit awkward \/ Made me feel a bit awkward,” Allen recalled in “West End Girl.”<\/p>\n

Allen later opened up about the toll her separation from the “Stranger Things” star has taken on her kids,\u00a0Ethel, 14, and\u00a0Marnie, 12, in an emotional live taping of her “Miss Me?” podcast, revealing: “My kids are f—ing mental at the moment. They are really developing their personalities. It’s just a lot. There’s a lot of questions.”<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0People<\/a>, Allen further explained that her decision to return to the U.K. with her children in the wake of her split from Harbour has resulted in a lot of upheaval in all their lives, conceding: “There’s a lot of change in our lives at the moment. <\/p>\n

“We’ve changed houses, we’ve changed countries, we’ve changed schools, and it’s a lot.”<\/p>\n

Before Allen and Harbour broke up, the couple had been living in the Brooklyn townhouse with the singer’s children, whom she shares with her former spouse,\u00a0Sam Cooper.<\/p>\n

The singer and the on-screen star had been deep in the throes of their romance when they snapped up the home, which served as their primary abode throughout their four-year marriage.<\/p>\n

However, that marriage broke down in early 2025, when reports began to surface that they had pulled the plug on their relationship.<\/p>\n

The property, which is situated on a Brooklyn block adorned with lush greenery, measures four stories and boasts five bedrooms and four bathrooms.<\/p>\n

According to the listing, the 22-foot-wide property marries “traditional English charm, modern Brooklyn sensibilities, and rich Italian influence.”<\/p>\n

Upon entering the abode, guests are greeted with green carpeting that leads to a white staircase.<\/p>\n

Adjacent to the entrance is the cozy living area, which comes complete with floral wallpaper, green crown molding, a fireplace, and glass doors to the backyard, which boasts its own sauna and cold plunge.<\/p>\n

The chef’s kitchen is entirely white, including the tile backsplash, and comes complete with state-of-the-art appliances, a large island, and a chandelier.<\/p>\n

There is also a large breakfast nook that is situated next to a window and seats several people.<\/p>\n

One of the bathrooms features blue floral wallpaper, a fireplace, and a large soaking tub.<\/p>\n

The many bedrooms boast enough space for a king-size bed and large windows, which flood the rooms with natural light.<\/p>\n

Another lounging room has zebra-print carpeting and a matching zebra-print couch.<\/p>\n

The garden level features a guest suite, a powder room, and a basement with a gym, laundry, and storage.<\/p>\n

In 2023, the couple showed off their remarkable abode in a shoot with\u00a0Architectural Digest<\/a>, which joked that the pair had created a “mad, mad, mad, mad world” inside their townhouse.<\/p>\n

At the time, Harbour\u2014who is best known for his role as Jim Hopper in the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things”\u2014credited Allen for being a driving force behind the colorful and eccentric wonderland.<\/p>\n

“Lily is someone who lives with color in a deeper way than most. Her taste is bold, silly, fun, eccentric. It\u2019s exciting,” he told AD.<\/p>\n

The result was a far cry from the dilapidated state the Carroll Gardens brownstone had been in when Harbour and Allen purchased it.<\/p>\n

“The facade was badly deteriorated, and the interior was … well, let\u2019s say it was very lived-in,” according to their architect,\u00a0Ben Bischoff.<\/p>\n

It was also a big move away from the midcentury modern aesthetic that Harbour enjoyed in his first home\u2014a one-bedroom loft inside a former wagon factory in\u00a0New York<\/a>‘s trendy NoHo neighborhood.<\/p>\n

In that home, Harbour’s bedroom was filled with natural light courtesy of the enormous windows and sky-high ceilings.<\/p>\n

Yet, in the home that he and Allen built together, the pink primary suite was windowless, creating the impression of a cozy cave in stark contrast with his former dwelling.<\/p>\n

While offering AD a glimpse inside their home, Allen described the room as a “bed womb.”<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the home, light fills the space, including in the carpeted primary bathroom, which is outfitted with an enormous tub and a fireplace. The bathroom also doubles as a sitting room, with the shower and toilet moved to a separate area to allow lounging space in the room.<\/p>\n

Now Harbour is residing in his West Village dwelling, which is where Allen seemingly alleged in her album that her former husband had an affair with\u00a0Natalie Tippett, a costume designer the actor met in New Orleans in 2021.<\/p>\n
