After seven months on the market, pop star Lily Allen<\/a> and actor David Harbour\u2019s storied Brooklyn<\/a> brownstone<\/a> at 381 Union Street just sold. The home, which was where the couple lived prior to their public breakup, closed for $7 million, according to The New York Post<\/a>. The sale was private.<\/p>\n

The couple separated in February 2025<\/a> after five years of marriage. They listed the townhouse for just under $8 million<\/a> in October with Carl Gambino<\/a> of Compass Real Estate<\/a>, mere days after Allen released her hit album, West End Girl\u2014which she describes as \u201cinspired by<\/a>\u201d her relationship. It even features a reference to the home in one of the songs. In January, the asking price was reduced to a little over $7 million, per Realtor.com<\/a>. And later that same month, The New York Post<\/a> reported the five-bedroom home<\/a> was in contract with an unknown buyer for an unknown price.

The pair purchased the four-level home in January 2021 for $3.35 million<\/a> and quickly set to work reimagining the space with the help of ELLE Decor A-List<\/a> designer Billy Cotton and architect Ben Bischoff<\/a> of the practice MADE. Cotton\u2014who also scored a shout out on the album\u2014drew on Italian influences from the neighborhood as well as Allen’s own singularly English sensibilities when revamping the residence. For instance, detailed Zuber wallpaper added a breath of vibrance to many of the rooms, while new moldings brought an elegant flair. The primary bathroom was transformed into a bath-meets-sitting room, with wall-to-wall Pierre Frey carpeting, a fireplace, and dual Louis XVI-style vanities.<\/p>\n

Cotton took a more understated approach in the quaint Italian-inspired kitchen, where he favored cream tones for the Plain English cabinetry, backsplash, and spacious island. A custom banquette lines the large oversized windows, which overlooks the street.<\/p>\n

The airy kitchen leaned into the Italian heritage of the Carroll Gardens neighborhood.<\/p>\n

An oasis of whimsy in the middle of Brooklyn, the brownstone also features fully a finished basement with a gym and laundry room, a spacious backyard, and outdoor sauna.
