{"id":197085,"date":"2026-04-14T17:37:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T17:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/197085\/"},"modified":"2026-04-14T17:37:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T17:37:13","slug":"sequel-movie-shows-statue-of-liberty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/197085\/","title":{"rendered":"Sequel Movie Shows Statue of Liberty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/godzilla\/\" id=\"auto-tag_godzilla_1\" data-tag=\"godzilla\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Godzilla<\/a> is ready to take a bite out of the Big Apple in the first look at Godzilla Minus Zero.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tFilmmaker Takashi Yamazaki took the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/cinemacon\/\" id=\"auto-tag_cinemacon_1\" data-tag=\"cinemacon\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CinemaCon<\/a> stage in Las Vegas on Tuesday to tease progress on the sequel to his original Oscar-winning 2023 feature, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/godzilla-minus-one\/\" id=\"auto-tag_godzilla-minus-one_1\" data-tag=\"godzilla-minus-one\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Godzilla Minus One<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/gkids\/\" id=\"auto-tag_gkids_1\" data-tag=\"gkids\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">GKIDS<\/a> is set to release the follow-up theatrically on Nov. 6. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cThis film will be a direct sequel to Godzilla Minus One,\u201d Yamazaki told the crowd through a translator. \u201cIt will continue to follow the story of the Shikishima family.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tYamazaki added, \u201cIn this new film, an even deeper despair will descend upon Japan and the Shikishima family. When faced when overwhelming and inescapable force, how do people fight back?\u201d He noted, \u201cThe journey from Minus to Zero will not be an easy one.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tDuring the presentation, Yamazaki teased the Godzilla Minus Zero by showing behind-the-scenes footage of his team at work. He also revealed the first teaser trailer for the new project. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cIf their operation fails, maybe we\u2019ll finally get to use it,\u201d a voice says in the footage about an impending threat. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe trailer got a big cheer for its final moment that showed Godzilla approaching the Statue of Liberty as the kaiju makes its way through New York City. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tGodzilla Minus One centered on Ryunosuke Kamiki as K\u014dichi Shikishima, a former kamikaze pilot dealing with PTSD and survivor\u2019s guilt as he dealt with Godzilla in post-World War II Japan.
