A brute punched an on-duty MTA employee in the face during a fight inside a Midtown subway station early Tuesday, cops said.<\/p>\n

A 49-year-old man slugged the male worker around 3:40 a.m. on the southbound platform of the 47-50 Streets-Rockefeller Center hub, which serves the B, D, F and M trains, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The victim went to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition with minor injuries, cops said.<\/p>\n

His attacker was swiftly taken into custody, with charges still pending later Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police did not immediately know what sparked the fracas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The assault came less than two weeks after a Bronx subway conductor was spat on and severely beaten <\/a>by an outraged passenger whom he had ordered off a train, according to police.<\/p>\n

Wild video of the attack obtained by The Post appears to show the still-at-large assailant tackle and repeatedly punch the 58-year-old MTA operator in the face on the platform of the 177th Street-Parkchester station around 10:15 p.m. April 3.<\/p>\n
