The ambitious slate reaffirms the company\u2019s mission to make classical theater accessible to everyone, regardless of background or income.<\/p>\n<p>RECOMMENDED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/newyork\/news\/one-of-the-worlds-best-food-festivals-returns-to-nyc-this-weekend-041426\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">One of the world\u2019s best food festivals returns to NYC this weekend<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The season kicks off on May 14 at BRIC with\u00a0A Very Modern Classical Evening, a double-bill that pairs contemporary and classical voices. The program includes staged readings of\u00a0The Regulars, a new verse tragedy by playwright Le\u2019Asha Julius, alongside Moli\u00e8re\u2019s satirical one-act comedy\u00a0The Ludicrous Ladies, starring Michael Emerson and Lakisha May. The performance continues MIP\u2019s\u00a0practice of placing classic texts in\u00a0conversation with modern storytelling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Moli\u00e8re in the Park, our goal is always to connect the plays we offer with the lives and stories of the communities we serve,\u201d\u00a0founding executive director\u00a0Lucie Tiberghien said in a statement. \u201cThis season reflects our commitment to artistic rigor, community building and public access\u2014from intimate readings to large-scale performances in the park.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0June 19, the company presents a developmental workshop presentation of\u00a0Don Juan,\u00a0translated by Stephen Wadsworth, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
