Brian Zak\/Page Six<\/p>\n<p>Since opening in 2011, Catch New York has drawn an A-list crowd, instantly cementing its status as a see-and-be-seen destination for the city\u2019s elite.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA good friend of the brand, Nas, celebrated his birthday for the opening night,\u201d Remm recalled, adding that he brought \u201ca lot of great people\u201d including Jay-Z, Carmelo Anthony and Common.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo from that first night \u2026 that lit the spark of what Catch is today, and that created the hype and some of the sizzle around the space,\u201d Remm said.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, Nas (center) celebrated his birthday on Catch New York\u2019s opening day with friends, including Jay-Z and Common. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Nearly every big name has walked through the eatery\u2019s landmark front door \u2014  from Justin and Hailey Bieber to Mariah Carey, as well as Steven Tyler, Ja Rule and countless others.<\/p>\n<p>As the \u201cclubstaurant\u201d trend cooled in the wake of the pandemic, Catch\u2019s momentum began to taper \u2014 presenting Remm and his team the opportunity to shift their focus onto three new ventures that have since become some of the hardest reservations in town: <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2024\/09\/23\/celebrity-news\/inside-taylor-swifts-trendy-nyc-dinner-with-gigi-hadid\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Corner Store<\/a>, The Eighty Six and<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/08\/business\/new-restaurant-from-catch-hospitality-group-set-to-bring-light-and-fire-to-soho\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Or\u2019esh.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the mammoth success of his team\u2019s latest gastronomic endeavors, Remm seized the cultural moment by shifting Catch toward a more \u201cfood-first focus.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re really just focusing on creating amazing experiences with a food-first lens, whilst keeping true to the culture of what Catch has been for the last 15 years \u2014 which is a place to get together and a place to celebrate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re celebrating our 15-year anniversary by introducing 15 new food items, an entirely new cocktail program, and an entirely refreshed design of the entire space,\u201d Remm said. Brian Zak\/Page Six<\/p>\n<p>The dining room went from 400 seats to 240.  Brian Zak\/Page Six<\/p>\n<p>There are now cozy leather banquettes \u2014 offering a more comfortable experience.  Brian Zak\/Page Six<\/p>\n<p>The space \u2014 once a 400-person dining room \u2014 now seats just 240 patrons. The re-design, dreamed up by Catch\u2019s longtime architectural collaborator, Rockwell Group, allows for spacious leather banquettes and more breathing room between tables.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to create an element of luxury and design within the space, as opposed to something that just crammed in a lot of tables,\u201d Remm said. <\/p>\n<p>Catch Hospitality Group\u2019s director of culinary, Chef Michael Vignola, dreamed up innovative dishes that play off their original menu. New appetizers include a crunchy croissant pretzel bread, chicken Bao buns topped with caviar, bok choy salad with shaved grapes, crispy sunflower seeds and sesame dressing, and a mosaic Crudo di Catch.<\/p>\n<p>Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox hit Catch in 2022. Getty Images for MTV<\/p>\n<p>Scene-stealing entr\u00e9es include a lobster mac \u2018n cheese topped with a cartoon-like claw and a Stone Axe Wagyu fillet gently tossed in a miso mushroom crust \u2014 the latter of which Bethenny Frankel declared her \u201cdeath row meal\u201d during Friends and Family week. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe feedback has been fantastic,\u201d Remm said, before divulging that a few New York Knicks players recently came in and devoured the caviar bao buns.<\/p>\n<p>Already popping up all over Instagram Reels is executive pastry chef Michael Romano\u2019s strawberry shortcake shaved ice, which is comprised of a crushed strawberry compote and lemon cookie crumble drizzled with a mascarpone mousse and condensed milk.<\/p>\n<p>Adjacent to the stylish second-floor dining room is the moody bar area, where thirsty city slickers\u00a0are invited to sip on craft cocktails like Catch\u2019s filthy martini garnished with furikake-mascarpone olives, a matcha-macadamia white negroni and a fluffy margarita. <\/p>\n<p>Catch Hospitality Group\u2019s director of culinary, Michael Vignola, created a revitalized menu for the re-opening. Brian Zak\/Page Six<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve had a lot of exciting moments here at the bar, and you never know who you\u2019re going to run into,\u201d Remm said, recalling the hilarious time he spotted Axl Rose having a casual drink with a friend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one on our team knew who he was \u2026 because they were too young to know who Guns N\u2019 Roses is,\u201d Remm laughed.<\/p>\n<p>Brad Pitt chilled in the bar area while celebrating the premiere of his 2013 movie, \u201cWorld War Z.\u201d Remm also recalled bringing in food from nearby Mexican restaurant Dos Caminos for an anonymous A-lister who was craving tacos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou never know what people are going to ask for, and our job is to take care of them,\u201d Remm said. <\/p>\n<p>For a more private dining experience, patrons have the option to tuck themselves away in the semi-private dining room on the third floor across from the bustling blue-tiled open kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>The wagyu is tossed in a miso mushroom crust. And it\u2019s a great opportunity for people to come have a quiet meal, not be interrupted by anyone, and have a great experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since the revamp, reservations have doubled, and there are even waitlists for Sunday and Monday nights, Remm said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been electric to see the sheer joy out of people who are coming here and appreciating it and posting it and sharing it with their friends,\u201d Remm gushed. \u201cIt\u2019s been amazing to watch. I\u2019m unaware of anyone who\u2019s ever been able to do it before, and I\u2019m just excited that people love the food, that people love the room, and [I\u2019m] just grateful for the team I have around me that can execute it on a day-to-day basis.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The martin is served with a sidecar and furikake-mascarpone olives. Brian Zak\/Page Six<\/p>\n<p>Ever humble, Remm credits Catch New York as the foundation for everything his team has achieved, pointing to the original outpost as the springboard for the expanding restaurant empire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout these four walls, there would be no Catch LA.
