Queen M\u00e1xima and King Willem are visiting the US. Unlike the look and distance that royals usually portray, the Dutch King and Queen<\/a> showed how modern their approach is to ruling, visiting Little Havana, Miami, and participating in a heated game of dominoes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The pair visited Domino Park, an area in Little Havana known for its congregations of Cubans and Latinos, who gather to play games like chess and dominoes and have conversations amongst strangers. Queen M\u00e1xima<\/a> and King Willem are currently on a three-day tour in the US, with their schedule filled with engagements, having stops in Philadelphia and Washington.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For the outing, M\u00e1xima opted for a colorful jumpsuit, a fashion area that fits neatly into her style. She styled her hair in a bun and accessorized it with large earrings and a cream-and-brown purse.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For his part, Willem-Alexander wore a cream-colored suit paired with a blue button-up. The pair smiled for photos in sunny Miami, standing in front of the city’s famous buildings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In videos shared online, Willem and M\u00e1xima were seen enjoying Miami<\/a> and getting to know some of its most famous locations. One of the clips showed the royals playing dominoes with Miami locals, gamely setting up their pieces and laughing with others.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump<\/a> and First Lady Melania Trump<\/a> welcomed King Willem and Queen M\u00e1xima to the country, with their meeting memorialized by photographers and reporters.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Thank you for having us,” said the King after shaking hands with Trump and Melania. He piloted the plane that brought he and his wife to Philadelphia this past Sunday, continuing his tradition. Over the years, the King has amassed various pilot licenses and considers the practice one of his favorite hobbies, calling it “relaxing” in different interviews. “You can completely disengage and concentrate on something else,” he said in an interview with\u00a0De Telegraaf.<\/p>\n

“You have an aircraft, passengers, and crew. You have responsibility for them. You can’t take your problems from the ground into the skies,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Over the past week, the pair has visited some symbolic and important locations in the country, including Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, commemorating America’s 250th anniversary of independence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the coming weeks, the US will also be hosting King Charles<\/a> and Queen Camilla<\/a>, who’ll be making an official state visit to the country, spending four days in various cities.\u00a0<\/p>\n
