{"id":199072,"date":"2026-04-16T09:32:39","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T09:32:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/199072\/"},"modified":"2026-04-16T09:32:39","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T09:32:39","slug":"news-12-bronx-mott-haven-deli-facing-lawsuit-after-unsanitary-conditions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/199072\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Bronx | Mott Haven Deli Facing Lawsuit After Unsanitary Conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">A Mott Haven deli is facing a lawsuit filed by Richard Ball, the state commissioner of Agriculture and Markets.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Willis Grocery and Deli is located at 408 E. 138th St. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The lawsuit that was filed in 2025 states inspectors noted several violations. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Some of the violations mentioned include inspectors noted the ice machine wasn&#8217;t working properly and had a build-up of brownish grime. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The lawsuit goes on to say several live cockroaches seen inside the ice machine, with nearly 80-100 live cockroaches seen throughout the store. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">News 12 spoke to a previous customer of the deli, who spoke about his run-in with roaches in the store.
