The\u00a0NCIS<\/a> franchise keeps growing and growing \u2014 and with so many characters to draw from over the years across all the shows, it\u2019s no surprise the newest one is featuring one of them. LL COOL J<\/a> is reprising his\u00a0NCIS: LA<\/a> role of Sam Hanna in the\u00a0New York<\/a> spinoff<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Joining him is someone he\u2019s worked with before, Scott Caan<\/a>, as the other lead. The new series was announced on Wednesday, April 15, when CBS announced its 2026-2027 schedule. It will be joining two other\u00a0NCIS series, including one on which LL COOL J is returning<\/a> for the April 21 episode, in the fall.<\/p>\n

The new\u00a0NCIS spinoff will be part of CBS\u2019s fall 2026 lineup. It will air Tuesdays at 9\/8c, between NCIS and the prequel\u00a0NCIS: Origins<\/a> (which is moving to 10\/9c).<\/p>\n

So far, all his character has been described as is \u201ca roguish agent.\u201d But he previously played Detective Danny Williams on Hawaii Five-0<\/a>, which crossed over with LL COOL J\u2019s NCIS: LA. Unless something major changed for Danny since that other CBS drama ended in 2020, he\u2019s playing a new character.<\/p>\n
