\n\tVictoria Beckham<\/a> has opened up about her estrangement from son Brooklyn after he slammed his famous parents in an infamous Instagram post \u2013 and without uttering her wayward child\u2019s name.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe love our children so much. We\u2019ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be,\u201d the former Spice Girl told the WSJ Magazine <\/a>in a profile. \u00a0In a Jan. 2026 Instagram Stories post, Brooklyn Beckham<\/a> accused his parents, former star footballer David and Victoria Beckham, of controlling \u201cnarratives in the press about our family\u201d and \u201ctrying endlessly to ruin my relationship\u201d with his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, among other claims.<\/p>\n

\n\tVictoria and David Beckham<\/a> have four children caught in the middle of the family rift: sons Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and daughter Harper Seven. \u201cAnd you know, we\u2019ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we\u2019ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that\u2019s all I really want to say about it,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\n\tShe insisted the negative media attention over her very public family rift had not undercut her fashion and beauty products business. \u201cI think that ultimately people are buying my product because the product is really good. I don\u2019t think they\u2019re buying my eyeliner just because it\u2019s me,\u201d the pop star-turned-fashion designer said.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn his infamous Instagram Story post<\/a>, Brooklyn said he did \u201cnot want to reconcile\u201d with his parents as he makes a new life with Nelson Peltz\u2019s daughter Nicola. He pleaded at the time: \u201cMy wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press or manipulation. All we want [is] peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBrooklyn Beckham added why he wanted out of the family firm: \u201cFor my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they\u2019ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBrooklyn on his Instagram Story why he wanted to exchange Brand Beckham for Brand Beckham Peltz: \u201cMy family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family \u2018love\u2019 is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it\u2019s at the expense of our professional obligations. We\u2019ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show \u2018our perfect family.\u2019 But the one time my wife asked for my mum\u2019s support to save displaced dogs during the L.A. fires, my mum refused.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Beckhams\u2019 son also bristled at speculation he was under the thumb of Nicola Peltz Beckham: \u201cThe narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my\u00a0life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief,\u201d he concluded. \u201cMy wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want [is] peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to Victoria, David Beckham has also spoken out <\/a>about son Brooklyn. While appearing on \u00a0CNBC\u2019s financial program\u00a0Squawk Box<\/a>, he addressed the power of social media. \u201cI\u2019ve tried to do the same with my children, to educate them. They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That\u2019s how they learn.
