The New York state Legislature on Thursday passed a fourth state budget extension \u2014 now more than two weeks past the budget’s deadline\u00a0\u2014 which was sent to Gov. Kathy Hochul for her signature. The extender runs through April 20 and ensures the state can cover essential expenses and make payroll deadlines. The budget was due April 1.<\/p>\n

New York state will use $43 million to go toward helping communities afford water and sewer infrastructure improvement projects, Gov. Kathy Hochul\u2019s office announced Thursday.<\/p>\n

New York will lose more than $73.5 million in federal money because the Transportation Department said Thursday that state has refused to revoke nearly 33,000\u00a0questionable commercial driver’s licenses\u00a0for immigrants since an audit uncovered problems last year.<\/p>\n
