On Yom HaShoah we remember the six million Jewish victims of the Nazis\u2019 systematic program of mass murder, along with the millions of others murdered by Hitler\u2019s regime. New York City is home to more Holocaust survivors than anywhere else in this country, and their resilience is woven into the fabric of our city. The horror of the Holocaust was made possible by systems of hatred and dehumanization that still echo in our society today. As antisemitism rises once more, remembrance is not enough. We must confront hate wherever it appears. \u2018Never again\u2019 is a promise.
