The National Fuel Gas Company Foundation has approved $385,000 in grants to support nonprofit organizations and community initiatives across its service territory in New York and Pennsylvania. The funding, approved at the Foundation\u2019s March meeting, reflects National Fuel\u2019s continued commitment to strengthening the communities where its employees live and work.<\/p>\n
The grants support programs that address basic needs, expand educational opportunities, promote safety, and enhance quality of life, with a focus on underserved communities.<\/p>\n

Among the organizations receiving support:<\/p>\n
The Salvation Army of Buffalo (Buffalo, N.Y.)
The Foundation approved funding for Phase 3 of The Salvation Army\u2019s Hope on Main campaign, which includes construction of a new East Buffalo Salvation Army Community Center. The new Center will replace an outdated facility and expand services in one of Buffalo\u2019s highest\u2011need neighborhoods by reducing transportation barriers and creating welcoming spaces for youth and families.<\/p>\n
The Center will serve as a community hub offering a food pantry, kitchen and dining space, after\u2011school and youth programs, educational workshops, recreation and fitness areas, and safe gathering spaces for families.<\/p>\n
Buffalo Museum of Science (Buffalo, N.Y.)
The Foundation approved a grant to support the Museum\u2019s new Science Stadium Exhibit, a $2.8 million interactive experience exploring the science behind sports. The exhibit will replace the Museum\u2019s oldest core exhibit and transform 3,000 square feet into a hands\u2011on environment inspired by real\u2011world sports settings.<\/p>\n
Through interactive experiences and a mini\u2011exhibit highlighting stadium construction, visitors will learn about physics, engineering, wellness, and a wide range of STEM careers. The grant completes funding for the project, which is scheduled to open in mid\u2011July.<\/p>\n
United Way of Erie County (Erie, Pa.)
The Foundation renewed its support for the United Way of Erie County\u2019s Community Schools Program, continuing National Fuel\u2019s partnership with Woodrow Wilson Middle School. The grant supports a Community School Director, who helps integrate academic, health, and family services directly into the school.<\/p>\n
This renewed support extends National Fuel\u2019s commitment to six consecutive years and helps remove barriers to learning, such as food insecurity, lack of school supplies, and access to support services, strengthening students, families, and the broader Erie community.<\/p>\n
The Coolidge Foundation (Tioga County, Pa.)
The Foundation also provided funding to the Coolidge Foundation, which supports public safety initiatives across Tioga County, with a focus on school and youth safety. Programs reach more than 5,000 students across the Wellsboro Area, Northern Tioga, and Southern Tioga School Districts.<\/p>\n
In partnership with local schools, the Foundation supports the nationally recognized Sweethearts & Heroes program to help prevent bullying and violence. It also hosts Agricultural Safety Days for students in grades 4\u201312, offering hands\u2011on education about farm equipment and grain bin safety led by experts and first responders.<\/p>\n
