After 15 years of firing up the smokers and piling plates high with meat,\u00a0Dinosaur Bar-B-Que<\/a> on Tuesday announced it will be closing its Brooklyn location this spring as its current lease comes to an end.<\/p>\n The final chapter for the Union Street restaurant will wrap up later this season, according to restaurant executives.\u00a0<\/p>\n Dinosaur Bar-B-Que was one of the first restaurant mainstays in Gowanus, a neighborhood that has seen an explosion of growth since it was rezoned.<\/p>\n \u201cIt has been an absolute honor to be welcomed into the Brooklyn community for 15 years,\u201d said Mike Nugent, chief executive officer of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. \u201cWe\u2019ve had a front-row seat to an incredible neighborhood, and we\u2019re proud of the team who showed up every day to deliver great barbecue and even better hospitality. Most of all, we\u2019re thankful for the guests who kept coming back hungry.\u201d<\/p>\n Other locations include Hamburg, Harlem, Rochester, Syracuse, and Troy, N.Y.
