Victoria Beckham is addressing one of the most dramatic celebrity rifts in recent memory. The fashion designer and pop culture icon has spoken up about her rift with her son, Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham<\/a>, sharing her thoughts for the first time. The interview follows the explosive statements made on Brooklyn’s social media earlier this year, where he claimed his parents wanted to ruin his relationship with Nicola Peltz-Beckham<\/a> and made it clear that he wasn’t interested in reconciling with them.<\/p>\n

Beckham was recently featured on\u00a0The Wall Street Journal, discussing her growing business and her family life, which has attracted much of the media attention for the past few months. In the interview, she defended herself and her husband, David Beckham<\/a>, saying that they weren’t trying to “control the narratives” around their son and their lives. She also denied claims that she and her husband wanted to ruin Brooklyn’s relationship with Nicola. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing a parent of young adult children and adult children, gosh, I mean, it\u2019s very different from having little children,\u201d she said. \u201cI think that we\u2019re trying to do the best we can.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that we\u2019ve always \u2014 we love our children so much,” she continued. \u201cWe\u2019ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we\u2019ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we\u2019ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that\u2019s all I really want to say about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She steered the conversation back to her business, making it clear that the negative press coverage hadn’t made an impact. \u201cI think that ultimately people are buying my product because the product is really good. I don\u2019t think they\u2019re buying my eyeliner just because it\u2019s me.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
