Victoria Beckham<\/a> has responded directly for the first time to questions surrounding the ongoing tension between the family and eldest son Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

In an interview published April 16 for The Wall Street Journal Magazine<\/a>, when asked about Brooklyn, Victoria avoided using his name but responded, \u201cI think that we\u2019ve always\u2014we love our children so much. We\u2019ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be.\u201d<\/p>\n

She reflected that the family had \u201cbeen in the public eye for more than 30 years right now,\u201d noting, \u201cAll we\u2019ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children.\u201d<\/p>\n

Victoria added, \u201cAnd you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Brooklyn Beckham took to his Instagram to share a lengthy post containing several accusations against his parents, Spice Girls band member and fashion designer Victoria and former professional footballer David Beckham.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old accused his parents of controlling “narratives in the press about our family” and doing “performative social media posts,” alongside “trying endlessly to ruin [his] relationship” including “hijacking” his and Nicola Peltz’s first dance at their wedding.<\/p>\n

Brooklyn’s post denied he was “being controlled” in any way but was actually “standing up for [himself] for the first time in [his] life” resolving he did “not want to reconcile with [his] family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Victoria was mentioned further in Brooklyn\u2019s original statement shared online, her eldest son accusing her of having \u201ccanceled making Nicola\u2019s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooklyn also alleged his mom \u201cwent so far as to call [him] \u2018evil\u2019 because Nicola and [he] chose to include [his] Nanny Sandra, and Nicola\u2019s Naunni at our table, because they both didn’t have their husbands.\u201d<\/p>\n

David and Victoria didn\u2019t directly respond to Brooklyn\u2019s allegations at the time. However, later that month, in an interview with CNBC<\/a> in a discussion about the power of social media, David reflected on advising his children to use it \u201cfor the right reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

While not referencing anyone by name, he said, \u201cThey make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids, you sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
