A sadistic sexual predator from Jackson Heights was sentenced to four decades in prison on Wednesday for the kidnapping and rape of three young women, including two minors, in 2022 and 2023. <\/p>\n

Andres Portilla, 31, of 85th Street, pleaded guilty on March 23<\/a> in Queens Supreme Court before jury selection was expected to begin for his upcoming trial. Portilla admitted he brutally beat one teen and kept her captive in his car for two months, locking the victim in the trunk when he wasn\u2019t there.<\/p>\n

According to the charges and investigation, in September 2022, Portilla invited one of his victims, a minor who was a runaway from Long Island, to an apartment in Queens, where he held her captive and perpetrated both sexual and physical assaults against her, resulting in permanent injuries.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

In November 2022, Portilla hit the victim on her head with a wrench, which shattered her right orbital bone. The defendant put the teen in a duffel bag and took her to his car, a 2008 Honda. He kept her captive, parked the car in secluded locations around Queens, and threatened to kill her if she left. He locked the teen in the trunk whenever he left the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The girl was forced to use a water jug as a toilet and was barely given food. He continued to both sexually and physically assault the girl for an additional two months until she was rescued by the NYPD. While restraining the first victim inside his car, Portilla lured a second victim, also a minor, into the car, where he raped her. He released the teen the same day because she received repeated phone calls from her family.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Jan. 1, 2023, Portilla met a third victim at a Queens Plaza 7-Eleven store in Long Island City just after midnight and lured the 21-year-old woman into his car under the guise of allowing her to use a phone charger. Portilla forced the victim into the red Honda Accord, locked the doors and sped off to a secluded area a few blocks away. When she refused to perform oral sex on Portilla, he allegedly grabbed a wrench and beat her with it, causing her teeth to \u201cpermanently shift in her mouth,\u201d according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

He proceeded to rape her repeatedly over the course of two days. He eventually released her after threatening to harm her family if she told the police because he knew where they lived.<\/p>\n

Portilla held her captive for four days while sexually and physically assaulting her. She was released only after Portilla saw news reports about the woman\u2019s disappearance. The victim made a report to the police and underwent treatment at a local hospital.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After an intensive investigation, police identified both the defendant and the car he was driving. A manhunt and vehicle chase ensued. Portilla was taken into custody on Jan. 6, 2023, by detectives from the NYPD\u2019s Special Victims Unit near Gorman Playground, a block from his 85th Street home. Portilla\u2019s first victim was in the car and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where she required months of treatment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis defendant committed horrifying acts of physical and sexual violence against multiple victims, including two minors, as he held them captive,\u201d Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz<\/a> said. \u201cThe abuse of one teen was so severe it resulted in permanent injuries that required months of treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Portilla pleaded guilty before Queens Supreme Court Justice Ushir Pandit-Durant to three counts of kidnapping in the second degree, assault in the first degree, two counts of rape in the first degree, rape in the second degree, two counts of criminal sex act in the first degree and assault in the second degree. Justice Pandit-Durant sentenced Portilla to 40 years\u2019 imprisonment, to be followed by 20 years of post-release supervision.<\/p>\n
