Victoria Beckham said all she and her husband, David Beckham, have \u201cever tried to do\u201d was \u201cprotect and love\u201d their four children as she broke her silence on the family\u2019s estrangement from son Brooklyn.<\/p>\n
The former Spice Girl addressed the matter for the first time during an interview with the Wall Street Journal<\/a> published Thursday.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that we\u2019ve always \u2013 we love our children so much,\u201d Victoria, 51, said when asked about Brooklyn, although she didn\u2019t refer to her eldest by name. \u201cWe\u2019ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be.\u201d<\/p>\n MORE: Beckham Peltz shocking wealth gap exposed<\/a><\/p>\n She continued, \u201cAnd you know, we\u2019ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we\u2019ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that\u2019s all I really want to say about it.\u201d<\/p>\n But Victoria also told the outlet that she and her retired soccer star husband are \u201ctrying to do the best [they] can\u201d parenting their four kids into adulthood.<\/p>\n \u201cBeing a parent of young adult children and adult children, gosh, I mean, it\u2019s very different from having little children,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n MORE: Brooklyn\u2019s secret Beckhams\u2019 revenge revealed<\/a><\/p>\n But Victoria also told the outlet that she and her retired soccer star husband are \u201ctrying to do the best [they] can\u201d parenting their four kids into adulthood.<\/p>\n \u201cBeing a parent of young adult children and adult children, gosh, I mean, it\u2019s very different from having little children,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n Victoria and Brooklyn\u2019s reps did not immediately respond to Page Six\u2019s requests for comment.<\/p>\n The luxury fashion designer and David, 50, welcomed 27-year-old Brooklyn in 1999. They also share sons Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, and daughter Harper, 14.<\/p>\n But Brooklyn reportedly began to distance himself from the Beckham clan after marrying his wife, 31-year-old actress and model Nicola Peltz, in 2022.<\/p>\n He went on to cut ties with his family completely in a scathing Instagram rant<\/a> in January, where the aspiring chef and photographer declared he had \u201cno choice\u201d but to break his silence on the longstanding feud.<\/p>\n \u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family,\u201d Brooklyn wrote in the six-page missive. \u201cI\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cRecently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they\u2019ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade.\u201d<\/p>\n After adding that \u201cthe truth always comes out\u201d and accusing his parents of \u201ctrying endlessly to ruin [his] relationship\u201d with Peltz before their 2022 wedding, Brooklyn launched more shocking accusations at his family.<\/p>\n Beyond claiming his famous parents engineered toxic media narratives and pressured him regarding name rights, Brooklyn alleged Victoria danced \u201cinappropriately\u201d on him after hijacking his and Peltz\u2019s first dance as a married couple.<\/p>\n Victoria and David aren\u2019t believed to have spoken to Brooklyn since May 2025, when Brooklyn and his wife reportedly skipped out on the soccer legend\u2019s 50th birthday celebrations in London.<\/p>\n However, many members of the Beckham family have tried to offer Brooklyn an olive branch amid their estrangement.<\/p>\n The couple shared throwback photos of their eldest on Instagram for his 27th birthday on March 4, and Cruz did the same in February.<\/p>\n This article originally appeared in Page Six<\/a> and was reproduced with permission<\/p>\n
