The successor to the ill-fated Brooklyn Mirage concert venue<\/a> has announced its long-awaited opening weekend of dance music shows \u2014 and the ticket prices are causing more agony than ecstasy.<\/p>\n

Tickets at the newly-minted Pacha New York in East Williamsburg<\/a> were going for a minimum of $150 for the June 21 weekend \u2014 a massive increase over the $20 starting price that the Mirage was known for.<\/p>\n

Pacha is promising to be up and running in time for a June 20 opening weekend. Pacha New York<\/p>\n

Ravers are even being asked to cough up $672 for \u201cbackstage dancing\u201d VIP stubs to see British DJ Michael Bibi launch the first show.<\/p>\n

Those prices surge for the next day\u2019s show, with general tickets to see South African disc jockey Black Coffee going for $177 \u2014 and an incredible $800 for VIP.<\/p>\n

For comparison, opening weekend tickets to see Sara Landry at the venue last year went for a base of just $56<\/a> despite the artist having more than double the amount of Spotify streams as Bibi.<\/p>\n

Landry\u2019s sold-out show was ultimately moved to the Knockdown Center when the Mirage failed to obtain the proper permits to open its open-air arena in time, an issue that has seemingly been inherited by Pacha, which is a New York outlet of the famous Ibiza, Spain, party spot.<\/p>\n

The cheapest ticket in Pacha\u2019s line-up is $150. Pacha New York<\/p>\n

The famed gargantuan indoor- and outdoor-venue was bought up by Pacha Group parent company FIVE Holdings with plans to entirely demolish and rebuild the stadium, but has been caught in a series of hang-ups that have prevented bulldozers from moving in.<\/p>\n

Pacha \u2014 whose parent company is based in Dubai and has clubs around the world \u2014 has promised that it will be open and ready in time for its June 20 opening weekend, and even offered coupons to those who lost their cash when the Mirage failed to open last summer.<\/p>\n

Neighbors raised concerns at a community meeting this week that the venue would filter drunk ravers through residential streets, but partiers seemed more upset with the \u201cabsurd\u201d pricing Pacha was proposing.<\/p>\n

Ravers called the price surge and VIP tickets \u201cinsane.\u201d Instagram<\/p>\n

\u201cThe place has gotten bougie-fied. They are trying to be more of a club than an event space,\u201d one former Mirage frequenter told The Post, asking to remain anonymous, noting that they say notorious DJ Steve Aoki play in 2024 for around $80. <\/a><\/p>\n

\u201c$150 if just insane.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plenty of others took to social media to gripe about the sticker shock, with some saying it was marking the death of rave culture in the Big Apple.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is why I was wondering why people were excited for this reopen. Returning to the days of $500 bottle service is a hard pass for me,\u201d one person wrote on Reddit.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re basically paying for their lawyers at this rate,\u201d another wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201clol mirage is dead. It\u2019s just a money sucking machine,\u201d said another.<\/p>\n
