Grace Meng in the Queens Congressional District 6 Democratic primary this June, received the endorsement of <a href=\"https:\/\/sunrisenyc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Sunrise NYC<\/a>, a youth-led climate organization advocating for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gp.org\/green_new_deal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Green New Deal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sunrise NYC \u2014 the New York chapter of the national Sunrise Movement \u2014 champions an agenda aimed at ending the climate crisis, creating union jobs and ensuring a livable future for all people.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The organization also challenges corporate and billionaire power, including divesting from the oil and gas industry and removing corporate Political Action Committee (PAC) money from Democratic primaries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe climate crisis is already here in Queens \u2014 from fatal hurricane flooding to the heat-related deaths and wildfire smoke poisoning our air,\u201d Park said. \u201cI am thrilled to fight alongside Sunrise NYC against the modern-day oil barons and their investors who are profiting from this crisis. We need a Green New Deal and investment in frontline communities now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A cornerstone of Park\u2019s campaign has been getting \u201cbig money\u201d out of politics and advocating for clean power, including 100% domestically-produced power and 100% affordable energy for every American.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The endorsement follows <a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/2026\/03\/nypan-chuck-park-2026-election\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">other progressive and local grassroots organizations<\/a> backing Park\u2019s campaign, including Citizens Action, New York Progressive Action Network, 504 Democrats and the Central Queens Independent Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>Park said his campaign has refused all corporate PAC and lobbyist money, centering his platform that includes Medicare for All, universal childcare, safer streets and modernized public transit.<\/p>\n<p>Sunrise NYC said it was proud to endorse Park for Congressional District 6 \u2014 which represents parts of <a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/neighborhoods\/bayside\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bayside<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/neighborhoods\/elmhurst\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Elmhurst<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/neighborhoods\/flushing\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Flushing<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/neighborhoods\/forest-hills\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forest Hills<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/neighborhoods\/kew-gardens\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kew Gardens<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/qns.com\/neighborhoods\/maspeth\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Maspeth<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cQueens is the cultural capital of the world, with hundreds of languages and diversity it is a borough where everyone can find home,\u201d the organization wrote in a statement. \u201cYet, as ICE agents target our immigrant families, and storm flooding claims the lives of basement and floor level apartments, Queens is in a crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The organization said Queens needs leadership that not only defends those in the borough, but stands against the Trump Administration\u2019s assault on Americans and war on the global stage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need investment and a vision for Queens that is affordable, sustainable, and just,\u201d the organization continued. \u201cSunrise NYC is proud to fight alongside Chuck Park because he knows Queens doesn\u2019t end at the East River. He will fight for a Green New Deal in Congress, work to ensure every family can afford to live here, and Chuck Park will protect the future of Queens from Flushing to Fujian.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Park \u2014 a husband, dad and foster parent \u2014 was born in Flushing to Korean immigrants, whom he said worked tirelessly as small business owners.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>He eventually served as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer under President Obama in 2010, but resigned in 2019 in protest of Trump\u2019s immigration policies.\n<\/p>\n<p>After stepping down from the role, Park said he turned to local organizing in Queens, working as a community advocate focusing on immigrant communities and a city government leader supporting economic development and constituents in the district.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In November, he announced his candidacy against Meng, a seven-term incumbent who has spent more than a decade in Congress as part of what Park described as a \u201clong-tenured, entrenched Democratic establishment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For more information about his platform, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/chuckforqueens.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">ChuckForQueens.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Chuck Park, who is running against U.S. Rep.
