On Wednesday evening, over 500 guests gathered on a Tribeca rooftop for a balmy evening of panoramic views, sunset cocktails, and artfully-applied black tie dress code. Newly-installed museum director Shamim M. Momin and co-chairs Danielle Falls and Annie B. Taylor both arrived in appliqu\u00e9 and jacquard KidSuper suits\u2014an apt nod to attendee KidSuper (Colm Dillane)<\/a>, who joined artist Awol Erizku and patron Lois Plehn as the night\u2019s honorees.<\/p>\n The Occasion: A revelrous evening of celebration and fundraising, held in the lead-up to the museum\u2019s South Wing renovation, slated to open in 2027, which will significantly expand the institution\u2019s programming capabilities.<\/p>\n The Crowd: A host committee of creative heavyweights included curators Storm Ascher<\/a>, Larry Ossei-Mensah, and Zoe Lukov<\/a>; musicians Joey Bada$$ and A$AP Ferg; designer Ella Emhoff<\/a>; photographers Tyler Hampton and Richie Shazam; editor Antwaun Sargent;<\/a> and gallerists Nicola Vassell and Hannah Traore. Other tastemaking guests included artists Ali Banisadr<\/a>, Diana Al-Hadid, Emil Sands<\/a>, and Anastasia Samoylova<\/a>; advisor Rachel Cole; and dealers Silke Lindner, Nick Olney, and Eric Gleason.<\/p>\n The Entertainment: At the afterparty, Erizku traded the podium for the decks alongside DJ D\u00fce Champ. Guests bobbed along to the music while nursing Kure Coffee espresso martinis and Edmond\u2019s Honor bourbon, poured over Bronx-branded Disco Cubes.<\/p>\n Memorable Moment: Phillip\u2019s auctioneer Sarah Krueger amped up the crowd for a curated live auction featuring artworks and artist experiences including work by Ann Craven<\/a> and a studio visit with Mickalene Thomas<\/a>.
