BUSHWICK, Brooklyn (WABC) — A group of New York’s Bravest jumped into action to help save a newborn baby’s life in Brooklyn last weekend.<\/p>\n

Members of Engine 277 in Bushwick were called to help a woman in active labor last Saturday.<\/p>\n

They raced to her apartment and they saw they would have to deliver the baby.<\/p>\n

Firefighters Jeffrey Jovin and Joseph Lopez leaned into their EMS training for what happened next.<\/p>\n

“I noticed that it was a stillborn,” Jovin said. “It wasn’t breathing, it was blue in color, and I immediately started taking charge.”<\/p>\n

Jovin said he and a paramedic continued CPR in the ambulance and the baby finally “pinked up” at the hospital.<\/p>\n

They haven’t seen the family since, but the FDNY said the mom and her baby boy are healthy and grateful.<\/p>\n
