{"id":201259,"date":"2026-04-17T22:05:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T22:05:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/201259\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T22:05:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T22:05:10","slug":"here-are-the-key-takeaways-from-brooklyns-state-of-the-borough-address","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/201259\/","title":{"rendered":"Here Are The Key Takeaways From Brooklyn&#8217;s State Of The Borough Address"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BROOKLYN, NY \u2014 Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso delivered his 2026 State of the Borough address before more than 1,000 attendees at the Brooklyn Museum, outlining new investments in education, immigrant services and cultural programs. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you talk to just about any family in this country, chances are someone in their story passed through Brooklyn,\u201d Reynoso said. \u201cPeople from every corner of the planet, every walk of life, belong in this borough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here are the key takeaways from the address:<\/p>\n<p>School Investment Targets Specialized Learning Needs <\/p>\n<p>Reynoso announced a $9.25 million capital investment to <a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/new-york\/brooklyn\/brooklyn-invests-9-25-million-sensory-rooms-schools\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">build sensory rooms<\/a> at District 75 elementary school sites across Brooklyn, beginning with 18 schools serving students with significant disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a father to a child with autism, I know just how important sensory rooms are for the students who need them,\u201d Reynoso said. \u201cSensory rooms help students regulate, focus, and reset so they can stay engaged in their learning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>District 75 programs serve students with autism, cognitive delays, and other specialized needs.
