(NewsNation<\/a>) \u2014 More than a year after a public feud with her son, Brooklyn Beckham, played out on social media, Victoria Beckham is speaking out about the situation.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal<\/a>, Beckham was asked about her oldest son but did not mention him by name.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that we\u2019ve always \u2014 we love our children so much,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we\u2019ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we\u2019ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that\u2019s all I really want to say about it,\u201d Beckham added.<\/p>\n

Rumors of tension<\/a> within the family began around Brooklyn Beckham\u2019s 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz.<\/p>\n

Peltz did not wear a wedding dress from Victoria Beckham\u2019s fashion label, despite reports that such plans had been discussed. Peltz denied<\/a> there was conflict, saying she wanted to wear a dress from the collection but that design issues ultimately led her to choose another gown.<\/p>\n

The dispute escalated publicly when Brooklyn accused his mother on social media of \u201chijacking<\/a>\u201d the first dance he was meant to share with Peltz at the wedding.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone,\u201d Brooklyn wrote at the time. \u201cI\u2019ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooklyn also accused his family of prioritizing publicity and brand endorsements<\/a>, writing that \u201cBrand Beckham\u201d came first and suggesting family support was tied to social media presence.<\/p>\n

Following the conflict, Brooklyn Beckham said reconciliation was \u201coff the table<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family. I\u2019m not being controlled. I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
