An NYPD mounted officer galloped through Manhattan streets in pursuit of a woman accused of snatching a purse from a victim\u2019s lap \u2014 with video capturing the dramatic chase weaving between cars and under scaffolding.<\/p>\n
The incident unfolded around 11:06 a.m. on April 15 near West 72nd Street and Columbus Avenue on the Upper West Side, according an incident report shared with PEOPLE by the NYPD.<\/p>\n
According to a criminal complaint, Felicia Field, 44, whom police described as undomiciled, allegedly took the purse from the victim\u2019s lap before fleeing the scene on foot.<\/p>\n
Video of the encounter shows the officer shouting \u201cStop running!\u201d as he follows Field down the street atop the horse, later identified by the NYPD as Kelly in a social media post<\/a>.<\/p>\n Field continued running, darting under sidewalk scaffolding and between parked cars as the horse moved through traffic behind her.<\/p>\n The pursuit ended when a bystander helped stop her, allowing officers to take her into custody without incident, according to police.<\/p>\n
