THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) \u2013 New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and former President Barack Obama read to a group of kids on Saturday, according to officials.<\/p>\n
Obama joined Mamdani to read a children\u2019s book to a group of toddlers and met with families in the South Bronx.<\/p>\n

The picture book explains why we need each other\u2014friends, families, neighbors, communities\u2014and reassures children that being alone is also powerful, according to a Barnes & Noble <\/a>description.<\/p>\n In another social media post, Mayor Mamdani and President Obama are shown waving their hands back and forth while singing, \u201cThe wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish all through the town,\u201d a lyric from the popular children\u2019s song \u201cWheels on the Bus.\u201d<\/p>\n Officials said the two leaders discussed the Mayor\u2019s vision for New York City and the importance of giving New York\u2019s children the best possible start in life.<\/p>\n Matthew Euzarraga is a multimedia journalist from El Paso, Texas.
