(WCAX) &#8211; A New York man faces federal charges after authorities say he defrauded a Vermont medical practice out of nearly half a million dollars.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Van Jackson, 38, of Queensbury, pleaded not guilty on Friday to federal wire fraud and money laundering charges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Authorities say he defrauded a medical practice in Vermont of at least $400,000, including $68,000 that he allegedly wired into his personal bank account. He then allegedly used that money to pay a settlement with a medical practice in New York, where he previously worked and was accused of misappropriating funds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">If convicted, Jackson could spend 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WCAX.
