MIDDLE VILLAGE, Queens (PIX11) \u2014 A New York City Council Member is taking his community\u2019s concerns and frustrations over an illegal street takeover<\/a> directly to the NYPD today.<\/p>\n

It comes as police are still looking for the people and cars involved in the chaos that unfolded over the weekend in Queens.<\/p>\n

City Council Member Phil Wong, who represents the area, says he plans to meet with police commissioner Jessica Tisch on Tuesday to discuss not only what happened in Queens but also the broader issue of illegal car meetups and street takeovers affecting neighborhoods across the city.<\/p>\n

The incident happened early Saturday, around 1:45 a.m., at the intersection of Eliot Avenue and 69th Street.<\/p>\n

A big crowd gathered as dozens of cars took over the intersection, ripping donuts, blasting music, and someone even lighting a ring of fire in the middle of the street.<\/p>\n

Officers arrived and quickly broke up the gathering.<\/p>\n

Most drivers took off, but not before police say two men jumped onto the hood of a marked NYPD vehicle, cracking the windshield before speeding off.<\/p>\n

Police are now releasing several images of people and cars they are looking for as neighbors share frustration, along with Council Member Wong.<\/p>\n

The NYPD says it will continue to regularly monitor locations prone to car meetups and deploy officers to patrol them.<\/p>\n

Police say they responded to the 911 call reporting the situation here over the weekend within one minute.<\/p>\n
