Courtesy of Lincoln Center.<\/p>\n<p>By Gus Saltonstall<\/p>\n<p>Lincoln Center\u2019s \u201cSummer for the City\u201d programming will be back for its fifth year in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the programming, the Upper West Side arts center will host more than 100 events from June 10 to August 8, all of which will either be free or choose-what-you-pay.<\/p>\n<p>This year, \u201cSummer for the City\u201d programming will center on dance, including the inaugural Lincoln Center Contemporary Dance Festival and a new contemporary dance series on Hearst Plaza. In total, there will be nine new commissions across dance and classical music as part of the summer programming.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSummer\u00a0for the\u00a0City\u00a0carries forward Lincoln Center\u2019s founding promise to enliven New York with arts for all\u2014inviting everyone to experience the fullest expression of art and community,\u201d said\u00a0Shanta Thake, Ehrenkranz Chief Artistic Officer of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, in a news release. \u201cThis year, that energy feels more alive than ever, with dance at the center, artists from around the world, and moments of connection unfolding across our campus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This summer will also see the return of the BAAND Together Dance Festival, a social dance series across swing, hip hop, salsa, and ballroom, along with the silent disco parties on the Josie Robertson Plaza.<\/p>\n<p>Choose-what-you-pay tickets, which start at $5, go on sale to Lincoln Center members on May 13 and to the general public on May 20.
