It\u2019s King Charles and Harry<\/a> are doing better now, and their meeting is a go, or their relationship has broken down again, and they will never see each other again. One extreme or the other. Reports about what\u2019s happening between father and son vary wildly, and it\u2019s hard to know what is happening behind closed doors. But some things are just facts, like Harry\u2019s non-involvement in events surrounding the Queen\u2019s 100th birthday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

King Charles<\/a>\u2019 3-minute tribute to the Queen included Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three kids, but it did not mention Harry, Meghan<\/a>, or their kids. This is likely because the video featured the Queen on the Buckingham Palace balcony during her Diamond Jubilee celebration in June 2022. By that time, Harry and Meghan were no longer working royals.<\/p>\n

And, of course, since the two live in the United States, they were not present for the events surrounding the anniversary.<\/p>\n

But the video was mostly a tribute from Charles to his mother, where he spoke about how, ever since her first public broadcast at the age of 14, his mother spoke about how \u201cwe can each play our part to make the world of tomorrow a better and happier place.\u201d<\/p>\n

The king added, \u201cSo young or old and whatever our differences, let us therefore seek to follow this example as we make today not the marking of a milestone felt absence but the celebration of a life well-lived and a legacy of hope as we strive together towards a better, happier tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reportedly, Prince Harry sent\u00a0flowers to the Queen\u2019s grave<\/a> at the King George VI Memorial Chapel at Windsor Castle to commemorate her birthday.<\/p>\n

Celebrations for the Queen\u2019s birthday mostly centered on the senior working royals, with the official Instagram account sharing a picture of the group.<\/p>\n

The new reports about Harry come after reports that a new meeting between Charles and Harry is no longer in the plans. Rob Shuter\u2019s\u00a0Shuterscoop<\/a>\u00a0says that there were no \u201cfirm trial dates locked in,\u201d and the meeting was never a certainty.\u00a0\u201cCharles is in complete control,\u201d a source said. \u201cIf he wanted a father-son reunion, it would happen. There\u2019s just no desire on either side right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another added,\u00a0\u201cHarry\u2019s schedule is tight, but that\u2019s not the real issue \u2014 it\u2019s mutual choice. A sit-down isn\u2019t in the cards.\u201d<\/p>\n

Radar Online<\/a>\u00a0is reporting that part of the reason Charles is avoiding a meeting is that he does not want to be associated with Harry\u2019s lawsuit against the Daily Mail publisher, saying that it could be \u201cpolitically disastrous.\u201d<\/p>\n

The outlet claims Charles is afraid of appearing \u201cweak\u201d and \u201cfoolish\u201d if a second meeting takes place. \u201cWhat has changed is not Harry, but the internal balance of power around the king,\u201d royal expert Tom Sykes explained. \u201cThis new attempt to recalibrate his position vis-\u00e0-vis Harry looks to me like a recognition it was a mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is why the currently evolving new stance \u2013 no meeting without an apology, no proximity while Harry is embarrassing the family in court \u2013 is gaining traction inside the palace,\u201d Sykes claimed. \u201cIt could allow Charles to reclaim a measure of authority, and, crucially, to align himself more closely with [Prince]\u00a0William\u2019s uncompromising position.\u201d<\/p>\n
