QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) \u2014 A large fire is engulfing a house and a local church in Queens on Thursday evening, FDNY officials tell PIX11 News.<\/p>\n
Police received a 911 call reporting a house fire, which extended to the church at 6:46 p.m. at 27-21 12th Street, between 27 Avenue and Main Avenue.<\/p>\n

Multiple fire hoses are being used by firefighters, who can be heard blasting streams of water to extinguish the blaze, according to a post from the FDNY on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n Over 50 fire units and more than 150 firefighters, and Emergency Medical Services are responding to the scene, according to officials.<\/p>\n At least one firefighter was injured, according to FDNY.<\/p>\n The New York City Emergency Management Department is urging New Yorkers near the fire to close their windows to avoid smoke, according to a social media post<\/a>.<\/p>\n This is a developing story.
