A new kind of aircraft touched down in Hell\u2019s Kitchen this morning \u2014 briefly. Joby Aviation\u2019s electric \u201cair taxi\u201d arrived at the West 30th Street Heliport in Hudson River Park just before 11:30am on Thursday, completing its first test flight into the West Side from JFK Airport.<\/p>\n

The electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft didn\u2019t linger. It performed what\u2019s known as a \u201ctouch-and-go,\u201d landing for roughly a minute before lifting off again and heading back along the Hudson River.<\/p>\n
