NEW YORK \u2014 A historic Queens church erupted into a fifth-alarm blaze Thursday, cops and firefighters said.<\/p>\n

The fire swept through the First Reformed Church of Astoria, <\/a>located on 12th St. near Astoria Blvd. in Astoria around 6:47 p.m., according to law enforcement officials.<\/p>\n

The blaze first erupted in a building attached to the house of worship before spreading to the church, a law enforcement source told the Daily News.<\/p>\n

Roughly 270 firefighters and medics were dispatched to battle the fifth-alarm blaze, according to FDNY officials.<\/p>\n

Five firefighters were taken to a local hospital for treatment, but an FDNY spokesperson could not provide their conditions.<\/p>\n
