(WAFB) &#8211; The sun was shining, and the waters were bustling this past Sunday as fishing enthusiasts gathered for Patrick Queen\u2019s Inaugural All-Pro Fishing Tournament at the False River Public Landing. Even though the day started with rain, it transformed into a vibrant occasion with 48 teams entered. The event showcased local talent and brought the community together for a day of friendly competition on the water.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">NFL Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen was not just the event\u2019s host; he joined the fun, participating in the festivities that highlighted his passion for fishing and community engagement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIt was just to put on another event,\u201d he said when asked about his inspiration for organizing the tournament. \u201cI know that I don\u2019t get to fish tournaments often, being in season and everything, and a lot of my friends do. It\u2019s something that brings our community together, and it\u2019s something that I love to do in the off-season. It just felt like it was only right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The tournament featured an exciting competition to catch the biggest fish, with prizes awarded to the top teams. Winners received various rewards, including donations from Patrick Queen\u2019s All-Pro Fishing and Tackle Shop, with proceeds from raffle ticket sales benefiting the Kiwanis of Pointe Coupee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The tournament results were thrilling, with the top eight winners achieving impressive catches:<\/p>\n<p>1st Place: Charles Ballard and Brad Buoy \u2013 Five fish totaling 21 lbs. 8.8 oz.2nd Place: Cody Bergeron and Kevin Bergeron \u2013 Five fish totaling 16 lbs. 13.2 oz.3rd Place: Phillip Covington and Tyler Covington \u2013 Five fish totaling 16 lbs. 5 oz.4th Place: Kendall Vosburg \u2013 Five fish totaling 16 lbs. 4 oz.5th Place: Austin Adams and Darryl Folse \u2013 Five fish totaling 15 lbs. 8.2 oz.6th Place: Shannon Fairchild and Wayne Major \u2013 Five fish totaling 14 lbs. 8.6 oz.7th Place: Ryan Young and Travis Meche \u2013 Five fish totaling 12 lbs. 7 oz.8th Place: Doug Bergeron and Brandon Bergeron \u2013 Five fish totaling 12 lbs. 7 oz.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In addition to the overall competition, a Big Bass contest awarded prizes for the largest individual catches. The top two winners were:<\/p>\n<p>1st Place: Phillip Covington and Tyler Covington \u2013 Weight of 7 lbs. 11.2 oz.2nd Place: Charles Ballard and Brad Buoy \u2013 Weight of 5 lbs. 7 oz.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Overall, the event was a resounding success, celebrating the joy of fishing while fostering community spirit and support.
