Kennedy Bridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 41-year-old woman was killed after a wild crash on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mta.info\/agency\/bridges-and-tunnels\/rfk-bridge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Robert F. Kennedy Bridge<\/a> that caused her Jeep Wrangler to strike a Honda CRV, then a concrete median before overturning, police said Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The unidentified driver was heading south on the Bronx span toward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/location\/new-york\/new-york-county\/new-york-city\/queens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Astoria, Queens<\/a>, when the crash occurred.<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses saw the driver speeding and making unsafe lane changes on the bridge, police said. As she charged down the four-lane span, she swerved from the middle left lane to the left lane, where she struck the Honda CRV driven by a 63-year-old man.<\/p>\n<p>The Wrangler bounced off the CRV, veered out of control, and struck the center concrete median before overturning and landing on its roof, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>The Jeep finally came to rest in the middle left lane, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>The woman died at the scene. Her name was not immediately disclosed as cops track down relatives.<\/p>\n<p>The 63-year-old man driving the CRV, and a 56-year-old woman in the passenger seat were taken to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nychealthandhospitals.org\/locations\/lincoln\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Lincoln Hospital<\/a> with minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic on the southbound side of the bridge was suspended for several hours as cops investigated the crash.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A 41-year-old woman was killed after a wild crash on the Robert F.
