{"id":210573,"date":"2026-04-26T21:28:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-26T21:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/210573\/"},"modified":"2026-04-26T21:28:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-26T21:28:07","slug":"man-28-stopped-in-car-at-red-light-in-queens-fatally-struck-by-driver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/210573\/","title":{"rendered":"Man, 28, stopped in car at red light in Queens fatally struck by driver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 28-year-old man stopped at a red light in Queens died after his car was struck by a driver in Queens, police said Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Davidson Torres Suarez was in his 2005 Toyota Corolla waiting for the light to change at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Bell+Blvd+%26+86th+Ave,+Queens,+NY+11427\/@40.7292319,-73.7528604,16z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x89c261868f36a84b:0x47f9761250aa7d23!8m2!3d40.7292319!4d-73.7528604!16s%2Fg%2F11f3b_ws8t?entry=ttu&amp;g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDQyMi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bell Blvd. and 86th Ave.<\/a> in Hollis Hills when the 65-year-old driver of an Audi coupe slammed into him about 9:25 p.m. Friday, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>The Audi driver continued traveling south on Bell Blvd. and struck a light pole.<\/p>\n<p>Medics rushed Torres Suarez to <a href=\"https:\/\/nsuh.northwell.edu\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">North Shore University Hospital,<\/a> where he died. He lived in Rosedale, according to cops.<\/p>\n<p>His two passengers, a 5-year-old boy and 30-year-old woman, were taken to the same hospital in stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the Audi was not hurt and stayed at the scene. He faced no immediate charges as cops continue to investigate.
