Fire marshals<\/a> are investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire<\/a> at 1091 Wilhomr St. in Brownsville, Brooklyn, on Sunday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n The fire broke out in a top-floor apartment just before 10:15 a.m. on April 26. Some 100 firefighters and paramedics rushed to the location, authorities said.\n<\/p>\n According to a firefighter at the scene, the fire was located in the back bedroom but extended into the cockloft, the area between the ceiling and the roof of the six-story building. To gain the upper hand, units were forced to pull the ceiling down; firefighters used three hoselines to knock down the main body of the blaze. Searches throughout the building were negative, the FDNY said.\u00a0<\/p>\n The 15th Division placed the fire under control shortly\u00a0after 11 a.m. The fire left multiple residents and pets displaced.
