As King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrive in Washington DC<\/a> Monday afternoon, attention is turning to where the royal couple will call home during their stay.<\/p>\n

They won’t check into a hotel, but rather one of the city’s most exclusive addresses.<\/p>\n

Here’s what to know as the pair kick off their four-day visit<\/a> to the United States.<\/p>\n

Where are King Charles III And Queen Camilla staying in Washington DC?<\/p>\n

The king and queen are expected to stay at Blair House while they are in DC, according to British publication ITV<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The residence is being transformed into their “home away from home,” with British and American flags lining the street, the New York Post <\/a>reported.<\/p>\n

What is Blair House?<\/p>\n

Blair House<\/a> \u2014 also known as The President’s Guest House \u2014 is a 120-room complex comprised of four connected row homes.<\/p>\n

Built in 1824<\/a>, Blair House was purchased by the U.S. Government in 1942 to be used for official diplomatic housing.<\/p>\n

Since then, it has hosted “some of the world’s most influential leaders,” including Queen Elizabeth II <\/a>in 2007.<\/p>\n

It also hosts the president-elect before the inauguration ceremonies.<\/p>\n

“Blair House holds a special place in the life of our nation. For generations, this residence has been the quiet, dignified bridge between the White House and the world,” First Lady Melania Trump<\/a> said in a prepared statement last year. “It has offered warmth, security, and hospitality to kings and queens, presidents and prime ministers, and leaders from every corner of the globe.”<\/p>\n

Where is Blair House?<\/p>\n

Located at 1651 Pennsylvania Ave NW in DC, Blair House is across the street from the White House.<\/p>\n

Blair House is not open to the public.<\/p>\n
