The event begins in Manhattan, with bicyclists concluding their ride across the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge to Fort Wadsworth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"JM3UC7SLUVEAJA3J2XSEQ2HNT4\">Registration is now closed for the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Z46F6HVN6JDBVJB2LPWTVG37GM\">Since 1977, the annual tour has brought cyclists from all walks of life and skill levels for an opportunity to experience New York City completely free of cars. The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is the primary fundraising event for Bike New York, a non-profit committed to empowering New Yorkers to transform their lives and their communities through cycling. Proceeds from the event directly help to fund free public bike education and access programs for more than 30,000 adults and kids throughout the five boroughs, according to the non-profit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"PHDZZVPBIZGFTKZ56OSUSGBWQE\">Here\u2019s what you need to know about the 2026 TD Five Boro Bike Tour.<\/p>\n<p>When it will take place?<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"6Q5MHVYWSBCXRPWKBPKIH62ECM\">The bike tour will take place on Sunday, May 3. It will kick off at 7:30 a.m. when the first wave of riders departs lower Manhattan, with the final wave departing at 10:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>What is the route?<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"WGTCJG5IT5C5NNVWAJUTAK3ELQ\">The 40-mile tour spans the city\u2019s five boroughs, beginning in lower Manhattan, traveling north into the Bronx, heading into Queens and then into Brooklyn. Bicycle riders then cross the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and conclude in St. George near the Staten Island Ferry.<\/p>\n<p>What about the Finish Festival?<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"UZSXBKPR4ZAOBEGC3KBXORBFOY\">The Finish Festival will be held at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"PEXVEFHZCFAIDIMXEMVZ5ZWPNA\">Once you arrive, you can pick up your finisher medal, enjoy some entertainment and take a break before finishing the route to the Staten Island Ferry.<\/p>\n<p>Can I take the Staten Island Ferry?<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"7P3SKPEU2ZAWJIZTIZYPUNES5Y\">According to Bike New York, the Staten Island Ferry will provide service for the tour starting at 6 a.m. on Sunday. Service will run every 20 minutes from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. from Staten Island to Manhattan. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"GNYFVLOR2VDIDEU6L7JCQHQNXI\">Starting at 11 a.m., ferries will run every 15 minutes until 6 p.m., and then every half hour after that. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"CN22FUEWIRGAHNPH5VVI734GVI\">Riders should note that lines for Manhattan-bound ferries may be long starting in the early afternoon. Cyclists may be asked to board the boat on the lower level at both the Whitehall Terminal in Manhattan and the St. George Terminal on Staten Island.<\/p>\n<p>What about parking?<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ZRCM2JGFNNHTFAWE4B54SUB7OM\">Streets throughout New York City will be closed on Sunday along the route and parking may be difficult for participants and spectators. Bike New York recommended that cyclists park their car on Staten Island for easy access to the Staten Island Ferry to get into lower Manhattan for the start of the race. It will also mean participants won\u2019t have to travel far after the race. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"TWAZPWUDBZBNZADCZHF7GQXO5U\">Paid parking lots at the Staten Island Ferry in St. George are limited, though there are several municipal lots nearby. Participants can also park near a Staten Island Railway station a few stops from the Staten Island Ferry. <\/p>\n<p>Can I ride the Staten Island Railway with my bike?<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"KJPKZK46AZDWVKVRYI3O75ZFZY\">Cyclists can ride the Staten Island Railway to get to the Staten Island Ferry in St. George, as bikes are permitted on the train.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"WZKSYJ6RPVD2TC4KBCB2KLOWRI\">All cyclists must exit the train at the Tompkinsville Station, which is one stop before St. George, and walk their bikes to the ferry terminal. Riders will not be able to access the Staten Island Ferry from the St. George stop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"5TD4VFXBXBBSHOKTPOQPNJQ62Q\">OMNY fares are collected as you enter and exit at the Tompkinsville Station.<\/p>\n<p>What is the weather forecast for Sunday?<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"HZBPVAY6VNBR7LGPQ4BYCLZCJU\">As of Monday morning, AccuWeather predicted that Sunday will have times of clouds and sun, with no precipitation in the forecast.
